The National Rifle Association is taking aim at President Barack Obama’s expected gun order plan, deriding the tactic as a “political stunt.”
The powerful gun-rights advocacy group’s spokeswoman said Saturday the president’s defiant move would fly in the face of voters’ wishes.
“President Obama failed to pass his anti-gun agenda though Congress because the majority of Americans oppose more gun-control,” spokeswoman Jennifer Baker tells Fox News.
“Now he is doing what he always does when he doesn’t get his way, which is defy the will of the people and issue an executive order.”
Baker added that focusing on tightening background checks of firearms’ buyers is “nothing more than a political stunt to appease anti-gun billionaire Michael Bloomberg and will do nothing to increase public safety.”
