A Louisiana Congressman is not mincing words after the Obama administration threatened Louisiana and Alabama after each state made the decision to revoke taxpayer funding from the Planned Parenthood abortion business. The de-funding came after the abortion company was caught in six different videos selling aborted babies and their body parts for research.
Louisiana Congressman John Fleming has responded and told President Barack Obama to quit protecting Planned Parenthood.
“I find it alarming that the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) is quick to say our state is breaking the law by defunding Planned Parenthood, and yet refuses to investigate them even after six incriminating videos have clearly shown the organization manipulating abortion procedures, selling infant remains following an abortion, and evading patient consent regulations,” said Fleming, a physician and strong abortion opponent. “It’s ironic that HHS is so quick to protect an organization with a public record of seemingly illegal behavior.”
Fleming said there are over 100 federally qualified health centers across the state that provide valuable services to women, “without profiting from abortions.”
Louisiana provided Planned Parenthood with $287,000 under its Medicaid provider contract with the state. Most of the Mediciad funding — at least 69 percent — comes from the federal government.
Alabama became the third state to de-fund the Planned Parenthood abortion business in the wake of five videos exposing how the abortion giant sells the body parts of aborted babies for research. The state followed Louisiana, which is revoking a contract with Planned Parenthood using state Medicaid dollars, and New Hampshire, which zapped $650,000 in state taxpayer funding.
