Right-to-Die Cancer Patient Rethinks Suicide Plan

The 29-year-old terminally ill cancer patient whose video on her choice to die by taking her own life went viral earlier this month is rethinking her Saturday suicide plan.

“I still feel good enough and I still have enough joy and I still laugh and smile with my family and friends enough that it doesn’t seem like the right time right now,” Brittany Maynard said in a recently released six-minute video on her website.

Ms. Maynard was diagnosed with brain cancer in January and given six months to live, and to expect a long and painful death due to her illness. After receiving this news, Ms. Maynard decided to chose “death with dignity,” according to her website, and he and her husband moved from California to to Oregon, which is one of the few states with a right-to-die law.
