Abortion provider Planned Parenthood will be opening a 22,000-square-foot facility in San Antonio that has pro-life activists say has violated city zoning laws. If it opens, it would be the largest Planned Parenthood facility in the region.
A lawsuit was initiated against Planned Parenthood by a coalition of organization seeking to stop the facility from opening its doors as scheduled on March 1. According to a report at EmpowerTexans.com by Gregory Harrison, the lawsuit is based on the center having been incorrectly zoned.
A temporary injunction seeking to prevent business occupancy was blocked last month. The city is opposing the lawsuit, in part because the primary plaintiff does not live within 200 feet of the building.
The new Planned Parenthood facility is intended to serve south and west Texas, but a required traffic study has not yet been performed.
