Jay Carney: Obama Maintains Full Confidence in Kathleen Sebelius

On Tuesday, as the administration celebrated exceeding the 7 million mark in Obamacare sign-ups, the president’s spokesman reiterated President Obama’s strong support for Health and Human Services Secretary Kathleen Sebelius.

Sebelius has spent the last six months under fire for the rocky rollout of healthcare.gov, but Obama has stood by her as the administration struggled to fix the website’s technological glitches. The president rejected calls to fire her and hold someone responsible for the early failures in his signature legislative achievement.

“The president has had and has confidence in HHS Secretary Kathleen Sebelius,” White House spokesman Jay Carney told reporters during his daily briefing Tuesday.
