Conservative radio host Glenn Beck lamented Friday a missed opportunity by Pope Francis, saying the pontiff “could have ended abortion in America” if he really wanted to during his visit to the U.S. this week.
The leader of the Catholic church did hint at his views on abortion during his address to CongressThursday when he spoke of the sanctity of life at “every age.”
But for Mr. Beck, that remark alone was not enough.
“The pope could have ended abortion in America yesterday,” Mr. Beck said on his show “The Glenn Beck Program” Friday night, Mediaite reported. “He could have stood in the well of the Senate and said, ‘I’m sorry. I know this is not my place. I’m not here to talk to you about politics. I’m here to talk to you about life, and you have the opportunity right now to end abortion.’”
