Catholic Archbishop: Voters Cannot Ignore ‘Legalized Homicide’ of Abortion

Philadelphia Archbishop Charles J. Chaput says that Catholics cannot ignore political candidates’ stance on  the “legalized homicide” of abortion when making decisions in the voting booth.

“There’s no way to contextualize or diminish the evil of a law that allows the killing of innocent unborn human life,” Chaput emphasized in his October 20th First Things Erasmus Lecture in New York.

“Nor is there any way for any Catholic to accept or ignore that kind of legalized homicide when it comes to decisions in the voting booth or anywhere else.”

Calling abortion  “the assassination of hope” and “a murder of society’s future,” Chaput reminded those present that “the abortion struggle hasn’t suddenly disappeared.
